The judgment seat of Christ is not an accurate term, being translated from the Greek language. The correct word should be Bema seat. The Bema Seat of Christ is a Greek term for the platform where the judge awarded the victors in athletic contests. It is also the place where believers will receive their rewards for service in the Body of Christ.
We as believers will stand before the Lord Jesus and receive rewards for what we have done while on the earth in His service. For that which we have done that is good, we will be rewarded, but for the bad things we have done, they will be burned up, but we will be saved. For we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ. For it is written: “As I live, says the Lord, every knee shall bow to Me, and every tongue shall confess to God.” So then each of us shall give account of himself to God.
I have done much in my 45 years of ministry, but I am afraid much of that will burn. I don't know how the Lord will judge our works and deeds, but I imagine He will reward that which came from a pure heart and good motive!
Knowing, therefore, the terror of the Lord, we persuade men; but we are well known to God, and I also trust is well known in your consciences. II Corinthians 5:11
