Drink water from your own cistern and running water from your own well. Should your fountains be dispersed abroad, streams of water in the streets? Let them be only your own, and not for strangers with you. Let your fountain be blessed and rejoice with the wife of your youth. As a loving deer and a graceful doe, let her breasts satisfy you at all times; and always be enraptured with her love. Proverbs 5:15-19

Samson was probably the strongest man who ever lived, raised to be a judge of Israel and to defeat the Philistines. The problem was that Samson's character never caught up with his strength. He was immature and naive to say the least, always playing games with his enemies, and it finally cost him his life!

Samson was called a Nazirite (An Israelite who was consecrated to the service of God, under vows to abstain from alcohol, let the hair grow, and avoid defilement by contact with dead bodies), Numbers 6. Samson broke most of his vows and disobeyed his parents by marrying a pagan woman and defiling them with honey from the body of a dead lion! He lost his wife, and it caused great anger to be aroused against the Philistines, and it became a root of bitterness in his heart!

Wide open for an attack from his real enemy, Satan, Samson was seduced by a diabolical plot from an immoral woman named Delilah. She led Samson into a trap by his lust for her, and she questioned him about where his strength came from. He finally gave in and told her that if his hair was cut, he would lose his strength. When he fell asleep on her lap, she called for the Philistines, and they came in and gouged out his eyes and cut off his hair, making him a captive. When his hair began to grow again, they took him to their coliseum to make sport of him, where he pushed the support pillars over, and the entire structure collapsed, killing everyone, including himself!

For why should you, my son, be enraptured by an immoral woman, and be embraced in the arms of a seductress? For the ways of man are before the eyes of the Lord, and He ponders all his paths. His own iniquities entrap the wicked man, and he is caught in the cords of his sin. He shall die for lack of instruction, and in the greatness of his folly, he shall go astray. Proverbs 5:20-23
