Then the cloud covered the tabernacle of meeting, and the glory of the Lord filled the tabernacle. Exodus 40:34
Jesus’ ministry is the ultimate encounter of Shekinah Glory that God has ever had with man on earth. "For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form, and in Christ you have been brought to fullness." He is the head over every power and authority.” (Colossians 2:9-10) Furthermore, Jesus was made to be both God and man in one person.
After my born-again experience forty-five years ago, I joined the local Baptist church that was entering a time of transformation, moving into the Spirit-filled life. I had heard of the baptism in the Holy Spirit but had not received it yet. My pastor, Jim Hylton, was preaching a revival meeting in New Albany, Indiana, on Sunday mornings and flying back to testify of God's miracles on Sunday night!
I had heard enough, so I flew up to see for myself the power of God. The first night was pretty normal with praise and worship and preaching, but the next night there was a supernatural anointing. My pastor went to the pulpit to preach, but fell on his face, weeping. At the same time, people were moaning and weeping, many on their faces, and so I went down front, fell on my face, and also wept!
All of a sudden, the weeping and wailing began to quiet down, and a gold cloud began to fall upon the congregation, and no one could move until it lifted. The Holy Spirit came upon me with such power that I thought I would die, and what a glorious death it would have been! I had been filled with the Holy Spirit, and my life would never be the same!
The revival started when four elderly ladies began praying for revival, and God began to move with many quitting their jobs and showing up at church, praying, and going out to witness. People were saved and healed, and the presence of God was everywhere. What was amazing was that this was a typical Southern Baptist Church, steeped in tradition but knowing nothing of the power of God!
When Solomon had finished praying, fire came down from heaven and consumed the burnt offering and the sacrifices; and the glory of the Lord filled the temple. And the priests could not enter the house of the Lord, because the glory of the Lord had filled the Lord’s house. When all the children of Israel saw how the fire came down, and the glory of the Lord on the temple, they bowed their faces to the ground on the pavement, and worshiped and praised the Lord, saying: “For He is good, For His mercy endures forever.” II Chronicles 7:1-3
