Therefore, laying aside all malice, all deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and all evil speaking, as newborn babes, desire the pure milk of the word, that you may grow thereby, if indeed you have tasted that the Lord is gracious. coming to Him as to a living stone, rejected indeed by men, but chosen by God and precious, you also, as living stones, are being built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. I Peter 2:1-5
We, as the body of the living Christ, are a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, and a new and living way for the people of God! We have one Mediator between us and the Father, the Lord Jesus Christ, who ever makes intercession for us.
Today, most of the world views the church as a group of old sinners saved by grace, and many of its members view themselves in that same light, or should I say, "Darkness!" We are children of light, anointed as a royal priesthood chosen by God as a holy nation serving in God's kingdom.
We have been called out of darkness, born again, and delivered from the powers of darkness. Filled with Holy Spirit power, we are more than conquerors, called to overcome and have victory in battle with the powers of darkness.
But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light, who once were not a people but are now the people of God, who had not obtained mercy but now have obtained mercy. I Peter 2:9,10
