Do you not know that your bodies are members of Christ? Shall I then take the members of Christ and make them members of a harlot? Certainly not! Or do you not know that he who is joined to a harlot is one body with her? For “the two,” He says, “shall become one flesh.” But he who is joined to the Lord is one spirit with him. Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. I Corinthians 6:15-18

Early on in my walk with Jesus, He taught me about soul ties and the danger of sexual immorality! A soul tie forms when two people have sex outside of the confines of marriage.

Soul ties can also form through emotional bonds, such as David and Jonathan had in I Samuel 18:1 Now when he had finished speaking to Saul, the soul of Jonathan was knit to the soul of David, and Jonathan loved him as his own soul. Many times, emotional bonds cause infatuation that leads to a sexual relationship.

When one has sex outside of marriage, it forms a soul tie, and all the generational curses a person has enter their lives. When I was in residential ministry, we broke soul ties over the ladies in our program by having them repent of their sins, some of which had over a thousand men.

Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? For you were bought at a price; therefore, glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s. I Corinthians 6:19,20
