"The kingdom of Heaven is like a certain king who arranged a marriage for his son, "and sent out his servants to call those who were invited to the wedding; and they were not willing to come." Matthew 22:2,3
When I got saved, I witnessed to everyone I knew and gave them expensive leather-bound bibles and led them to the Lord. But like the parable some received it with joy, but others only for a little while, and still others ended up mocking God!
I was perplexed that only a very few would come to the Lord because I was excited that God set me free and delivered me from death and Hell! Jesus led me to the highways and hedges, and I continued to reach out to those who were invited to the wedding. There was a Bible seminar in Dallas taught by the man who mentored me, so I took two men who I was trying to disciple, a drug addict and a drug dealer.
They didn't stay but a few hours and walked back to Ft. Worth, the drug dealer who had been in prison for murder was later shot and killed in a drug deal gone wrong and the other I spent 30 years trying to help him and his wife but to no avail! In the past 45 years, I have seen hundreds that I shared the gospel with who mocked God or left and went back into a life of drugs, many who died without Christ! Sad.
"Again, he sent out other servants, saying, 'Tell those who are invited, "See, I have prepared my dinner, my oxen and fatted cattle are killed, and all things are ready. Come to the wedding." "But they made light of it and they went their own ways." Matthew 22:4,5
