Unlike Joseph who went from pit to prison to Prince, Moses went from Prince to pauper, to becoming a common shepherd. When God calls us there is always a transformation even in the Old Testament.
God had brought Moses through many trials to make him His man for the job! To deliver the children of Israel from the bonds of Egypt would be a formidable task indeed, but God was with Moses. With a miraculous ordination in the midst of a burning bush Moses was prepared for service in the army of the Lord!
When one is called into the service of the Lord, He separates us unto Him and makes us know His will for our lives. Not long after my salvation experience, I went back into the world and went into business just as I had before I was saved until God sent Jesus to my office and said, "Come with me to an old cemetery in Aurora, Texas!" I knew it well because I used to skip school and go there.
We pulled in and He spoke and said, "I call Heaven and earth to witness today against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore, choose life, that both you and your descendants may live." I chose life and we went back to the office where a Constable was waiting who served me papers that led to my bankruptcy, and I went into the ministry!
And the Lord said, I have surely seen the oppression of My people who are in Egypt, and have heard their cry because of their taskmasters, for I know their sorrows. Exodus 3:7
