The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me to lie down in green pastures, He leads me besides still waters. Psalm 23:1,2

When one is born again, he becomes a sheep in the Lord's pasture, no longer on his own he is now under the total care of His Shepherd, the Lord Jesus Christ! The green pastures He leads us to are the vast fields of His word in which we feed on and strengthen our hearts and cleanse our minds!

A spiritual sheep eats and drinks spiritual nourishment that satisfies the soul. The still water is that place of solitude where we commune with God and meditate on His revelation and wisdom. In the natural sheep wont drink from rushing streams because it scares them and in the supernatural, we can't be quiet with all the commotion of the world distracting us.

Sheep are the only animals requiring a human shepherd to guide, feed, and care for them. When a sheep is heavy with wool, gets wet and falls down it is called a cast sheep because it cannot get up on its own. So it is with us when we fall, we are not likely able to get up on our own either. The good Shepherd has to come and pick us up out of our circumstances.

I sought the Lord, and He heard me, and delivered me from all my fears. Psalm 34:4
