"Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous, do not be afraid, nor be dismayed (disheartened) for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go." Joshua 1:9
A lot has happened, Israel has crossed the Jordan as God split the waters again and they marched over on dry land, they celebrated the Passover and the manna ceased and now they faced their first great trial, Jerico!
Jerico was a fortified city locked up tighter than a drum! The inhabitants were scared to death of Israel having heard about their trials in the wilderness and the miracles that God wrought among them. God told Joshua that He had given the city into his hands and then gave instruction for their victory!
God said to march around the city once for six days and then, for seven priests to blow seven trumpets and on the seventh day you shall march around the city seven times. Then when you hear the blast of the trumpet that all the people shall shout with a great shout and the walls shall fall down! When engaging in spiritual warfare it is important to be led by the voice of Holy Spirit and do what He says in order to obtain a victory!
And the seventh time it happened, when the priests blew the trumpets; that Joshua said to the people: "Shout, for the Lord has given you the city!" Joshua 6:16
