But the path of the just is like the shinning sun, that shines ever brighter unto the perfect day. The way of the wicked is like darkness, they do not know what makes them stumble. Proverbs 4:18,19

Salvation was knocking at my door, I could have ignored it and continued down the broad road to Hell, or I could choose life and open it! Praise God I chose life! The man at the door was sent by a young man who worked for me, and they had both been praying for me to be saved.

Sitting there with a 45-caliber pistol, a lid of grass, a Coors light, a gram of coke and a pack of Marlboro's, I was armed for battle! The man who was a common house painter who was by no means common couldn't read or write and graduated Bible college taking his tests orally. He rolled out a dispensational chart and commenced to tell me about Jesus. The only thing that got my attention was little heads of people crying out in the Lake of Fire!

I asked him who they were, and he said, "Those are the ones who rejected the Lord Jesus Christ and will suffer damnation forever!" And then he said to me, "Do you believe God will save you tonight?" That hit me like a ton of bricks because if anyone needed saving it was me! Then I answered and said, "Yes!" It felt as though a million pounds lifted off my shoulders and I dropped to my knees and asked the Lord to save me! The next day I could hardly speak because my tongue had been cleansed of profanity and I was clean! Praise be to God!

But the salvation of the righteous is from the Lord; He is their strength in the time of trouble. And the Lord shall help them and deliver them; He shall deliver them from the wicked, and save them, because they trust in Him. Psalm 37:39, 40
