"The kingdom of Heaven is like a certain king who arranged a marriage for his son and sent out his servants to call those who were invited to the wedding; and they were not willing to come." Matthew 22:2,3
This is the parable of the Marriage supper of the Lamb of whom everyone is invited, but not everyone will come! There will be many excuses not to attend but it will be the worst mistake anyone could ever make to miss this celebration of eternal life with the Lord in Heaven!
The King in this parable represents God and we are the servants sent to share the gospel of Jesus Christ and call them to eternal life. The servants went out into the highways and gathered together all they found, and the wedding hall was filled with guests. When the King went in to see the guests, He saw a man there who did not have on his wedding garments.
The King said to him, "Friend how did you come in here without your wedding garment?" And he was speechless! Imagine if that was you who had never been washed in the blood of Christ, but like millions of church members thinking they are welcome because of their goodness, they will be mortified!
"Then the King said to His servants, 'Bind him hand and foot, take him away, and cast him into outer darkness; there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.' "For many are called but few are chosen.' " Matthew 22:12,13
