Let's face it the world has become a sick place even in America, the hospitals are full of people afflicted with a multitude of sicknesses, diseases and maladies of all kinds! Much of our woes are directly related to our diet but much of it I am afraid can be blamed on our sin!
Does sin cause sickness? A question many don't understand, but it is a major contributor to our health! Many of the auto-immune diseases can be caused by a generational curse and others by our own bitterness and unforgiveness, especially arthritis. Hebrews speaks to this by saying that a root of bitterness can cause trouble and by this many become defiled.
The book of James gives us the Divine remedy for our sickness in that he gives steps for our healing. First, he says, "Is anyone among you sick, call for the doctor!" No, he said, "Call for the elders of the church!" That I believe has hindered our ability to be healed, we have put way too much trust in doctors and not in the supernatural gift of healing.
Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer of faith will save (deliver) the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins he will be forgiven. James 5:14,15
