Restore to me the joy of Your salvation and uphold me by Your generous Spirit. Then I will teach transgressors Your ways, and sinners will be converted to You. Psalm 51:12,13

As I said before, when we walk in sin there is no evidence of our salvation, no joy orpeace, only fear and depression! David experienced this and desired to have the joy of the Lord back in his life.
He cried out to God to once again lift him up by His Holy Spirit from the depths of sin and transgression. Sins plunges us into the pits of fear and emotional torment. Imagine the burden on David even though he denied his sin and justified his behavior being an adulterer and a murderer, guilty of sins punishable by death!
Even though we may commit sin and God forgives us it becomes a part of our testimony, the good, the bad and the ugly! This becomes a tool to witness to others who have sinned and fall short of God's glory and enables us to lead them to Jesus!
Do not sorrow, for the joy of the Lord is your strength. Nehemiah 8:10
