Speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head, Christ, from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love. Ephesians 4:15,16

The body of the Lord Jesus Christ operates in the Spirit as the human body operates in the flesh. In other words, each person in the body supplies their gift and their ministry, which in turn causes the body to grow in the Spirit and, at the same time, is built up in faith.

We all have different gifts, as the body has many different organs that perform their function, giving life to the body. Some gifts are greater than others, as the heart of the human body is more important than the gallbladder. In any case, everyone has a part in the growth and health of the Body of Christ.

Today, however, the body of Christ is not built to the specifications of the Divine Design, having only one person operating in his gift, the pastor, so the body becomes a quadriplegic, as stated in Paul's teaching on the gifts to the church at Corinth.

For in fact the body is not one member but many. If the foot should say, “Because I am not a hand, I am not of the body,” is it therefore not of the body? And if the ear should say, “Because I am not an eye, I am not of the body,” is it therefore not of the body? If the whole body were an eye, where would be the hearing? If the whole were hearing, where would be the smelling? But now God has set the members, each one of them, in the body just as He pleased. I Corinthians 12:14-18
