Now go, write it before them on a tablet, and note it on a scroll, that it may be for a time to come, forever and ever: That this is a rebellious people, lying children, children who will not hear the law of the LORD. Isaiah 30:8-9
Isaiah wrote this for the rebellious people of his day, but it also serves us today who have ignored His Word and refused to obey Him! No time for God, too busy to read or study His Word; most today want little sugar-coated sermonettes to tickle their ears and justify their backslidden condition!
I send out hundreds of devotions, messages, and teachings by email, social media, and mail, and I can tell by how they are received, or not, because they are too long or maybe a hard word of repentance! My desire for the past 45 years was to share His word and give people what God gave me. Before I knew anything, I gave all of my friends Bibles; some still have them today.
It is our mission in this new life in Christ to replicate His will and Word to everyone and to preach His Gospel of grace to the lost! The prophet Isaiah spoke of what most wanted: smooth words of peace and safety and nothing that brought conviction to their hearts.
Who say to the seers, “Do not see,” And to the prophets, “Do not prophesy to us right things; speak to us smooth things, prophesy deceits. Get out of the way, turn aside from the path, cause the Holy One of Israel to cease from before us.” Isaiah 30:10-11
