For I acknowledge my transgressions, and my sin is ever before me. Against You, You only, have I sinned, and done evil in Your sight, that You may be found just when You speak, and blameless when You judge. Psalm 51:3,4

We commit sins one at a time and we need to confess them one at a time so that we can receive forgiveness and repent! David committed several sins during his affair with Bathsheba beginning with looking upon a woman to lust after her, coveting her for himself, committing adultery with his neighbor's wife, lying, murder and justification!

For a man after God's own heart, I would say that he totally blew it and went full blown into the arms of the devil! Dealing with drug addicts all of these years and being one myself there is a time during your recovery and subsequent deliverance that the devil whispers in your ear, "You need a break today!" In other words, celebrate being free and do one more hit, one more drink, one more smoke or one more anything and in most cases, you become hooked all over again!

This a cycle that sets us up for a fall and leads us to re-offend and it happens with drugs, alcohol, cigarettes, stealing, sexual sin and any other sin that you become addicted to. I was tempted several months after being saved and delivered. One day I was inspecting our home that we had left and were renting to a friend to see if it was cleaned and ready when walking into the bathroom there was a large drawer in the vanity where I kept my drugs and paraphernalia and a voice whispered in my ear, "Open it!"

When I was cleaning our things out days before I had dumped that drawer in the garbage and there was nothing in it but when I opened it there was a little bottle of cocaine, a gram and then the voice said, "No one is here, and no one will ever know." So, I grabbed it and flushed it down the toilet and never again was I tempted with drugs!

If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His word is not in us. I John 1:9.10
