True, God is love, mercy, and has abundant grace for the sinner, but for those who don't repent, His wrath (hot displeasure and anger) burns against ungodliness! Sodom and Gomorrah suffered destruction by fire from Heaven because of homosexuality and perversion. God also destroyed everyone in a flood because of the evil in their hearts!
The apostle Paul addresses the deep displeasure God has for homosexuality in the following chapter and says that He has turned those who practice it over to the lusts of their hearts to dishonor their bodies and also gave them up to vile passions. Men with men and women with women who exchanged the natural use for what is against nature.
Today, especially in America, homosexuality has been normalized, even legalizing same sex marriage and gay pastors in the churches. This type of perverse lifestyle carries the death sentence, and if not repented of, the eternal wrath of Hellfire!
And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a debased mind, to do those things which are not fitting; being filled with all unrighteousness, [a]sexual immorality, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, evil-mindedness; they are whisperers, backbiters, haters of God, violent, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, undiscerning, untrustworthy, unloving, unforgiving, unmerciful; who, knowing the righteous judgment of God, that those who practice such things are deserving of death, not only do the same but also approve of those who practice them. Romans 1:28-32
