Samson had finally met his match in an evil seductress who would defeat the strongest man on the planet! I believe the pride this man had and the fact that he trusted his great strength more than he trusted God allowed his enemies to defeat him and it cost him his life!
We would do well to take his demise to heart and truly walk with God in truth and honesty or else we could end up like Samson. Delilah was told to entice him to tell her where his great strength came from and three times, he lied to her until she said, "How can you say you love me, when your heart is not with me?" When he heard this, he told her where his strength came from, and she called for the Philistines!
Samson fell asleep on the devil's lap and his enemy rushed upon him and gouged out his eyes, shaved his head and bound him with bronze chains and made him a grinder in the prison. Then they took him to their temple to entertain them, but Samson's hair began to grow, and he called out to God for revenge and pulled down the entire building killing thousands of his enemies and sadly himself in a sin unto death!
Then Samson said, "Let me die with the Philistines!" And he pushed with all his might, and the temple fell on the lords and all the people who were in it. So, the dead that he killed at his death were more than he had killed in his life. Judges 16:30
