With the death of Stephen, God was about to begin a new paradigm with the advent of the gospel being sent to the Gentiles by an unlikely messenger, the future apostle Paul! Paul a Pharisee of Pharisees hell bent on the destruction of the new church of the followers of Jesus was about to be transformed by the power of the Holy Spirit!
Standing there watching them stone Stephen, he had no idea what was about to happen to him. God was about to knock him off his horse, blind him, save him, heal him and fill him with the Holy Spirit! A miracle indeed for an enemy of the church to be used mightily to take the gospel of Jesus Christ to the Gentiles!
Paul spent the rest of his life preaching, teaching and performing many miracles in the name of Christ until he was executed. He was a great example of what God can do even if someone isn't willing, his writings are still going forth today as a testimony of the grace and mercy of God!
The Lord said to Ananias, "Go, for Paul is a chosen vessel of Mine to bear My name before Gentiles, kings, and the children of Israel. "For I will show him how many things he must suffer for My name's sake." Acts 9:15,16
