"Moses My servant is dead, now therefore, arise, go over this Jordan, you and all this people, to the land which I am giving them, the children of Israel. "Every place that the sole of your feet will tread upon I have given you, as I said to Moses." Joshua 1:2,3
"Moses My servant is dead, now therefore, arise, go over this Jordan, you and all this people, to the land which I am giving them, the children of Israel. "Every place that the sole of your feet will tread upon I have given you, as I said to Moses." Joshua 1:2,3
Moses is dead, the old generation of the stubborn children of Israel have passed away after forty years of unbelief in the wilderness and a new generation is moving out on a new journey to the promised land.
Joshua has been anointed by Moses to take God's people across the Jordan into a new land flowing with milk and honey, but there are enemies to defeat and victories to be had. When God takes us on a new journey, he strengthens us to be able to endure the trials that come with it.
Imagine the anxiety of the people and the excitement felt as they were going into a completely new land with a new leader, Joshua, and about to face their first trial, Jerico! A new day was dawning on a new generation of God's chosen.
"Be strong and of good courage, for to this people you shall divide as an inheritance the land that I swore to their fathers to give them. Joshua 1:6
