Therefore, having these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God. II Corinthians 7:1
To cleanse ourselves from sin and iniquity leads to holiness as we persevere to inherit the divine nature and character of God. As Jesus is in the world so are we and we must mirror His reflection.
God has bestowed upon us thousands of magnificent promises, so should we now make ourselves clean in His sight and continue to strive to take upon ourselves godliness and righteousness? We are the representation of the spiritual body of Christ dwelling in man and performing that which God has called us to do on the earth in His stead!
The fear of the Lord according to the Word of God is the beginning of wisdom and spiritual discernment. As His servants, we are to worship and serve in holy reverence and respect concerning His Divine Holiness!
I beseech you, therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. Romans 12:1,2
