He who leads with diligence. Romans 12:8

Leaders in the Bible were obvious and were raised up and trained by God. Samuel, for instance, was dedicated to God at a young age and  entrusted to a priest named Eli for discipleship. This was a bad choice, but God taught Samuel how to hear His voice!

Lead, follow, or get out of the way, as the saying goes, is normally the mandate of a born leader. The future apostle of the Lord Jesus Christ, Peter, stood out among the twelve as the leader of the disciples. Boldness to step out as the Lord leads is a major characteristic of a leader, as Peter followed Jesus into the storm and walked on water.

To lead God's people requires a certain type of person: diligent, alert, bold, and brave, to wage war against the powers of darkness and to overcome in the midst of trials and tribulations.

The saying is trustworthy: If anyone aspires to the office of overseer, he desires a noble task. Therefore, an overseer must be above reproach, the husband of one wife, sober-minded, self-controlled, respectable, hospitable, able to teach, not a drunkard, not violent but gentle, not quarrelsome, not a lover of money. He must manage his own household well, with all dignity keeping his children submissive, for if someone does not know how to manage his own household, how will he care for God's church?
