Now when Jesus had entered Capernaum, a centurion came to Him pleading with Him, saying, "Lord, my servant is lying at home paralyzed, dreadfully tormented." And Jesus said to him, "I will come and heal him." Matthew 8:5-7
The centurion said to Him, "Lord I am not worthy that You should come under my roof. But speak a word, and my servant will be healed." The centurion, a Gentile recognized that Jesus understood authority saying that he would tell his soldiers to go, and they would go, and to come and they would come, he did not need to see, he knew.
Faith does not need to see, only to believe and trust the Lord to do what He says He will do. His word is His bond, His promise to fulfill for us what we ask of Him. Jesus was amazed at the centurion's faith and had not seen such great faith even in Israel. When we stand on the word and ask for miracles He answers!
Believing in faith and trusting God to answer our requests over time is like working out, as we exercise our muscles they grow and become stronger and so it is with our faith!
Then Jesus said to the centurion, "Go your way, and as you have believed, so let it be done for you." And his servant was healed that very hour. Matthew 8:13
