Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the path of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful; but his delight is in the law of the Lord, and in His law, he meditates day and night. Psalm 1:1-2

We walk in the counsel of the ungodly every day, listening to lost doctors, lawyers, and others who do not know the Lord. They are ungodly because they are lost! They may be good people, but they are not saved!

This has brought many curses on us because we have not obeyed the Lord! We have also stood in the path of sinners and the scornful. To repent of this is to be led by the Holy Spirit in everything because our ways are not His ways. Our delight must be His word and to meditate on it day and night because this renews our minds and cleanses our hearts of ungodliness!

If we obey this word, God promises that we shall be trees planted by rivers of water and not scrub bushes planted in the desert! And we will bear good fruit, and in whatever we do, it shall prosper!

He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth its fruit in its season, Whose leaf also shall not wither; and whatever he does shall prosper. Psalm 1:3

by Timothy Laughlin Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a steadfast (firm, immovable and faithful) spirit within me. Do not cast me away from Your presence, and do not take Your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of Your salvation and uphold me by Your generous Spirit. Then I will teach transgressors Your ways, and sinners shall be converted to You. Psalm 51:10-13 Is it really possible to have a pure and clean heart, even when you have committed adultery and murder? The answer is a resounding, yes! Through confession, acknowledgment, and repentance, God will wash your sins away and remove them from as far as the east is from the west! He will renew your relationship with Him and restore your faith and joy in your salvation. Fear, doubt, and unbelief will leave, and peace will cover your spirit, soul, and body. The hole in your heart will be closed and filled with Holy Spirit presence! His powerful anointing will return, and sinners will be saved! David repented of his sins, and God forgave him and set him free from his transgressions and iniquities. Although God forgives us, we must remember that the consequences of our sins continue to follow us even though we repent. David suffered greatly during the rest of his life. Deliver me from the guilt of bloodshed, O God, the God of my salvation, and my tongue shall sing aloud of Your righteousness. O Lord, open my lips, and my mouth shall show forth Your praise. For You do not desire sacrifice, or else I would give it; You do not delight in burnt offering. The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit, a broken and a contrite heart— These, O God, you will not despise.
