I will hear what God the Lord will speak, for He will speak peace to His people and to His saints; but let them not turn back to folly. Surely His salvation is near to those who fear Him, that glory may dwell in our land. Psalm 85:8-9

I will hear what the Lord shall speak, that is the key, I will hear! Do you hear Him when He speaks to you? Are you aware that His thoughts toward us are more than can be counted? Many distractions in life make hearing very hard to discern.
The Holy Spirit gives us peace that gives us the ability to hear Him, unless we allow the powers of darkness to overwhelm us with demonic chatter! We don't realize how often the demons attack our thought life because they don't want us to hear God!
The righteousness of God goes before Him, and His footsteps are our path. In other words, we are to walk in His footsteps so that we are not misled and wander off into darkness and turn back to foolishness!
Mercy and truth have met together; righteousness and peace have kissed. Truth shall spring out of the earth, and righteousness shall look down from heaven. Yes, the Lord will give what is good, and our land will yield its increase. Righteousness will go before Him and shall make His footsteps our pathway. Psalm 85:10-13
