The Spirit clearly says that in later times some will abandon the faith and follow deceiving spirits and things taught by demons. Such teachings come through hypocritical liars, whose consciences have been seared as with a hot iron. They forbid people to marry and order them to abstain from certain foods, which God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and who know the truth. For everything God created is good, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving, because it is consecrated by the word of God and prayer. I Timothy 4:5

The gospel was illustrated on the cross by a thief who acknowledged Jesus as Lord and King, confessed that he was a sinner and worthy of the punishment given him. He believed, and Jesus said, "Today you will be with Me in paradise."
No baptism, no prayer, just faith in Jesus, but from that day, the devil has done his dead level best to complicate the simple gospel of Christ with a multitude of legalistic rules, regulations, and "Thou shalt nots!" Millions have been deceived by the doctrines of demons, the traditions of man, and denominational teachings that lead to bondage.
Beware that you don't add to or take away from the gospel because the apostle Paul said that those who do, let them be accursed! Remember from the day the thief believed, the devil began to load us up with a legalistic, perverted, and distorted detour that leads to Hell!
If you point these things out to the brothers and sisters, you will be a good minister of Christ Jesus, nourished on the truths of the faith and of the good teaching that you have followed. Have nothing to do with godless myths and old wives’ tales; rather, train yourself to be godly. I Timothy 4:6,7
