Two blind men followed Jesus crying out and saying, "Son of David have mercy on us!" Matthew 9:27
Jesus said to them, "Do you believe that I am able to do this?" They said to Him, "Yes Lord." Many times, Jesus would ask those who came for healing if they truly believed that He could do it. Others He would ask them to stretch out their hand, rise and walk, and so on. These are all acts of faith.
Faith without works is dead, there has to be action involved with our belief just as it was when Peter was asked to step out of the boat by Jesus who was walking on the water. We know that walking on water is impossible and yet Jesus was doing it and now He was asking Peter to do it! Can you imagine the thoughts, or should I say flaming missiles telling him how impossible this is?
Peter ignored the attacks in his mind and stepped out of the boat but began to look at the circumstances around him and took His eyes off of Jesus and although he did walk on water, he sunk believing what he saw rather than what faith was telling him.
Then Jesus touched the blind men's eyes saying, "According to your faith let it be done to you." And their eyes were opened. Matthew 9:29,30
