But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right (authority) to become children of God, to those who believe in His name, who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. John 1:12,13

To receive Jesus is to submit to His lordship over our lives and believe in His death, burial and resurrection for we are saved through faith. The night I was saved I was asked, "Do you believe God will save you?" I said yes, and I became a born-again believer!
There are all kinds of steps, keys, and ways that man has told us to be saved but Jesus says that He is the way, the truth, and the life and to come to Him believing is His way. The very first man to believe was the thief of the cross who acknowledged he was a sinner and also acknowledged that Jesus was both Lord and King and he was invited to join Jesus in Paradise that very day!
Are you born again? Have you never believed in the saving grace of God? Are you certain, like the thief that if you died today, you would be with Jesus in Heaven? If you are not sure, come to Him and confess that you are a sinner and ask for forgiveness believing that His blood will cleanse you and then make Him the Lord of your life!
And the Word (Jesus) became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth. John 1:14
