Now we know that whatever the law says, it says to those who are under the law, that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God. Therefore, by the deeds of the law no flesh will be justified in His sight, for by the law is the knowledge of sin. Romans 3:19,20
Now we know that whatever the law says, it says to those who are under the law, that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God. Therefore, by the deeds of the law no flesh will be justified in His sight, for by the law is the knowledge of sin. Romans 3:19,20
As the scripture states, no one will be justified (pardoned) by the deeds or works of the law, for the law gives us the knowledge of sin. In other words, one can't be saved by keeping the law of God.
A rich boy came to Jesus and asked Him, "Good Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?" Jesus replied, "No one is good but God." Then He told him, "You know the commandments, and He quoted the law, and the lad said he had kept the law from his youth! The boy was a liar; no one has kept the law, and as Jesus said, "No one is good enough to inherit eternal life."
Jesus then told the boy to sell all he had and give it to the poor, and he would have treasure in Heaven, but the lad couldn't do it and went away sorrowful. Jesus said, "How hard it is for those who have riches to enter the kingdom of God."
For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus. Romans 3:23,24
