For You will light my lamp; the Lord my God will enlighten my darkness. For by You I can run against a troop, by my God I can leap over a wall. As for God, His way is perfect. The word of the Lord is proven; He is a shield to all who trust in Him. Psalm 18:28-30

We are the lamps of God who has enlightened our hearts when we were born again. We cry out, "Open the eyes of our understanding!" These are the eyes of our spirits so that we can see spiritual things hidden in the darkness.
The world is a dark and foreboding place, and as we traverse the path of life, our spiritual eyes guide us. My friend and pastor, David, lost his sight a few years ago, but now his spiritual sight has been greatly enhanced so that he can see in the spirit and understand that which God is speaking.
Do you have eyes to see and ears to hear what the Holy Spirit is saying? Many today don't have that gift as they trudge along in this life, feeling their way in the flesh through the darkness. Ask God to open your eyes that you may see in the Spirit what God has given you!
The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what the hope of His calling is, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints. Ephesians 1:18
