Jesus walked the earth in His day among those who were sick, demonized and downtrodden. He knew their pain and suffering and understood their plight! When He went to Lazarus in His sickness but arrived too late, He wept even though He knew He would raise him from the dead.
A Shepherd of shepherds He was the expression of a Holy God who loved His people in their time of need. We on the other hand are the expression of Jesus today in the earth to walk as He walked and to do what He did by healing the sick, casting out demons, feeding the poor and even raising the dead!
Modern Christianity has become a spectator sport where the masses go to hear a sugary Message of hope and love, sing a few songs, write a check to cover the enormous overhead, go home take a nap, and next week do it all again! Jesus was and is our example of true servanthood, not some religious exercise, but true discipleship where we move out among those in need and live the Gospel of Jesus Christ!
And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations and then the end will come. Matthew 24:14
