The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, but the fear of the world brings death! My dad died in 73 of lung cancer, and from that time I feared cancer, and it was so bad that at times I even had symptoms. After I came to Jesus, the fear left me, and then in 2019, I was diagnosed with bladder cancer.
I hadn't been to a doctor in over 30 years when I began to bleed, thinking it was just passing stones, so I ignored it. One morning, I woke up swollen all over and went to the ER, where they said I had a liter of blood in my bladder and my kidneys shut down, and they told me I would be on dialysis for the rest of my life. They admitted me, and that night, Mary Ann and I prayed, and the next morning my numbers were back to normal. Praise God!
What was weird was that I didn't have any fear, even when the Doctor who had just biopsied me told my wife that he saw an angry beast in my bladder! After a two-week stay in the hospital, I went to my Urologist, and he told me they would take out my bladder, and I would be as good as new! Still no fear, but I was not going to lose my bladder! The Lord directed me to a Ukrainian Doctor in Dallas at UTSW, who told me I had a 70% chance of saving my bladder, and after three surgeries, seventeen immunotherapy treatments, and 30 or 40 cystoscopies (Cystoscopy is an endoscopic procedure that involves inserting a thin tube called a cystoscope into the urethra and advancing it into the bladder. This allows doctors to visually inspect the lining of the bladder and urethra. I am cancer-free!
