For I have betrothed you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ. But I fear, lest somehow, as the serpent deceived Eve by his craftiness, so your minds may be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ. For if he who comes preaches another Jesus whom we have not preached, or if you receive a different spirit which you have not received, or a different gospel which you have not accepted, you may well put up with it! II Corinthians 11:2-4

II Corinthians 11:2-4
I thought there was only one gospel, one Jesus, and one Spirit, but as the apostle Paul states, there are many. For one to know the truth, one must learn the true gospel spoken by the true Jesus and taught by the Holy Spirit!
Many have come proclaiming perverted gospels, even saying they are the Messiah, speaking lies and deception to draw away the sheep after them. II Timothy 2:15 exhorts us to present ourselves approved by God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of God. In other words, we are to become students of the Word so that we can discern the truth from the lies of the devil!
Beware of those who come in the name of Jesus, but inwardly they are angels of light, deceivers with ill intent. In these last days, there have been many: Jim Jones, David Koresh, and many TV evangelists who spread lies and perversion for money!
For such people are false apostles, deceitful workers, masquerading as apostles of Christ. And no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light. It is not surprising, then, if his servants also masquerade as servants of righteousness. II Corinthians 11:13-15
