"Therefore, let all the house of Israel know that God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Christ." Now when they heard this they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest and the rest of the apostles, "Men and brethren, what shall we do?" Acts 2:36,37

The glorious church of the Lord Jesus Christ was birthed with the outpouring of the Holy Spirit and signs and wonders on 120 followers all speaking in tongues. As they entered the streets speaking in the languages of those who were there to celebrate Pentecost the visitors heard the gospel in their native tongues.

Peter stood up and preached the word of God accusing the people that they had crucified the Lord Jesus and conviction fell upon them as they cried out, "What shall we do?" The word Peter preached illustrated the dynamics of the gospel and the components that bring about salvation!

They were cut to the heart by Peter's words, convicted of sin, they were in agony of soul and spirit because the Holy Spirit illumined their sinful hearts! This is missing from our sugary Messages of today not wanting to offend anyone, and yet without the conviction of sin, no one will see the Lord!

Then Peter said to them, "Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus for the remission (forgiveness) of sins, and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit." Acts 2:38
