So the great dragon was cast out, that serpent of old, called the Devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was cast to the earth, and his angels were cast out with him. Revelation 12:9
With the advent of Satan and Adam and Eve's disobedience sin entered the world and with it a generational curse that would plague humanity. For eons, the consequences of Adam and Eve's sin blazed a trail of death and destruction with nothing to stop it except the blood of a spotless Lamb!
What began in a garden was about to be washed away by the only agent capable of cleansing the devastating effect of sin on mankind, the precious blood of the Lord Jesus Christ. Jesus was beginning His journey to the cross where sin would be dealt with forever! After His last supper with His disciples, they went to the garden of Gethsemane to pray and in agony, Jesus' sweat turned to drops of blood that gave mankind entrance to a garden that man was expelled from and access to the heavenly Father.
As Jesus prayed, an angel appeared to Him, strengthening Him in His time of suffering and pain, when He was tormented by the sins of man. Jesus would shed His blood in seven specific places from the garden to the cross.
And being in agony, He prayed more earnestly. Then His sweat became like great drops of blood falling down to the ground. Luke 22:44
