"A certain man had two sons. "And the younger of them said to his father, 'Give me the portion of goods that falls to me.' So, he divided to them his livelihood. "And not many days after, the younger son gathered all together, journeyed to a far country, and there wasted his possessions with prodigal (reckless spending, wasteful) living." Luke 15:11-13

My dad died in 1973, and I too became a prodigal son and inherited a 30,000 sq. ft. manufacturing plant and seven and a half acres of heavy industrial lease property. I was a millionaire at 24.

My daily routine consisted of trying to live up to our motto: "Sell something and collect the money in advance!" then lunch at the Cattleman's restaurant, three bloody Mary's, a steak, and back to work until 4:00 pm and then a six pack of beer, then home and switch to Scotch till 8:00 pm! I was slowly slipping into darkness not that I wasn't already there, I was a hopeless alcoholic!

If this wasn't bad enough, I was introduced to Marijuana and speed by my barber and once you begin buying drugs it's like a pharmacy from Hell, there is anything your dark little heart would want! It wasn't long before my brother came into the business, and I sold out so I could have more fun! At 25 I was on the "Highway to Hell" doing dope and partying until I was a train wreck running with friends who had the same habits but more money to keep them in the game!

Before I knew it I had lost everything to drugs having added cocaine, hash, exotic weed, opium, Quaaludes, Percodan, and meth to name a few. A drug dealer came to my house one night and fronted me $10,000.00 worth of pure coke and told me to sell it, take some for myself and he would return in a couple of weeks to collect. Before he left, he shot up a gram of coke and passed out on the floor, wonderful, I have a kilo of coke and a dead drug dealer in my living room! He finally got up and left and two weeks later I had no coke and a bloody nose!

"But when he spent all there arose a severe famine in that land, and he began to be in want, then he went and joined himself to a citizen of that country, and he sent him into the fields to feed swine. "And he would have gladly filled his stomach with the pods that the swine ate, and no one gave him anything." Luke 15:14-16
