Do not fret because of evildoers, nor be envious of the workers of iniquity. Psalm 37:1
Throughout my journey with Jesus, He has impressed upon me these precepts that have blessed me and strengthened my walk with Him. By making them a discipline in our lives we will grow in the spirit and be able to become consistent in our spiritual life.
This first precept tells us not to fret because of evildoers of which we have many in these last days. Fret means to constantly worry and be anxious about the circumstances around us especially the wickedness and evil we see and experience every day. Just watching the nightly news can upset us and cause us to fret over what is going on in the world.
To stop fretting is to give it all to God because most of what we are fretting over we have no control over. Jesus said that lawlessness would abound, and darkness would fall upon the earth in the last days, so, we need to be about the task at hand and attend to our Father's business of spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ!
For they shall soon be cut down as the grass, and wither as the green herb. Psalm 37:2
