When all the people were baptized, it came to pass that Jesus was also baptized; and while He prayed, the heaven was opened, and the Holy Spirit descended in bodily form like a dove upon Him, and a voice came from Heaven which said, "You are My beloved Son, in You I am well pleased." Luke 3:21,22

The baptism in the Holy Spirit was indeed a miraculous event for the Lord Jesus, especially when Heaven opened, and God spoke to His Son in an audible voice. This was the beginning of a life and ministry filled with miracles!
Jesus is our example to follow in that we too are to be baptized in water, a symbol of our death to sin, our burial and our subsequent resurrection when we become New Creations in Christ and we are to also receive the baptism in the Holy Spirit! Before He began His ministry, He went into the wilderness to fast and pray, something we should all do before we engage in our ministry and spiritual warfare.
Tired, hungry and thirsty, Jesus was assaulted by His adversary, the devil who waited to pounce upon Him like a hungry lion! Although weary from His fast Jesus took up His spiritual weapons of war and defeated every scheme and ploy Satan had to throw at Him. As Jesus gained His first victory so we too can defeat our spiritual foes with our own weapons of war because we are His brethren!
Now when the devil had ended every temptation, he departed from Him until an opportune time. Luke 4:13
