But their minds were blinded. For, until this day, the same veil remains unlifted in the reading of the Old Testament, because the veil is taken away in Christ. But even to this day, when Moses is read, a veil lies on their heart. Nevertheless, when one turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. II Corinthians 3:14-16

Have you ever wondered about the look on the faces of those you are witnessing to, that calf at a new gate look? A blank stare as though you had told them you believe in aliens, but you only told them about Jesus.

That's because they have a veil over their eyes, and their minds are blinded to the truth of the gospel! I remember when my first wife's father died, and he had a Masonic funeral. It was a little weird at first when the Potentate stood at the back door and tipped his hat to God. Then at the burial, they brought the Masonic Bible out of the family car, and it was covered with a black veil!

That brought the scripture home to me that the gospel is veiled to them who are perishing! The lost cannot see the glory of God's truth unless the Holy Spirit opens their eyes so that they can see! The veil is taken away when one turns to the Lord.

Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord. II Corinthians 3:17,18
