This account highlights the destructive power of envy and the consequences of sin, as well as God's justice and mercy. Another significant account of two brothers is that of Jacob and Esau, the twin sons of Isaac and Rebekah. From birth, the two are at odds, with Jacob grasping Esau's heel as they are born. (Genesis 25:26).
Jacob cheated Esau out of his birthright and received the blessing of his father Issac. From that point on Esau was bitter, and it turned into anger and rage! Anger almost always begins with someone being hurt, and then they take it out on someone for no reason. The only remedy for a person's anger is repentance and forgiveness for the one who hurt them.
Another reason people get mad is becoming co-signers, becoming a guarantor for someone who usually doesn't pay the person back, and it ends in anger and sometimes even a lawsuit! Pledges are another thing you should never do unless you are going to keep whatever pledge that you make!
Do not be one of those who shakes hands in a pledge, one of those who is surety for debts; if you have nothing with which to pay, why should he take away your bed from under you? Proverbs 22:26-27
