INSTRUMENTS OF INDIGNATION

Now these things became our examples, to the intent that we should not lust after evil things. I Corinthians 10:6

It is my understanding from years of experiencing the deliverance of hundreds of people that demons entered them because of sin, disobedience and generational curses being sent as the wrath and indignation of a holy God. In the above mentioned scripture the apostle Paul is addressing the Corinthian church explaining the consequences of willful sin and disobedience to God and using Israel's rebellion as an example for us today.

In Paul's dissertation he explains that Israel committed acts of immorality and consequently, twenty three thousand fell dead in one day and he also said that they tempted Christ, or in other words they put Him to the test and were destroyed by serpents and if that wasn't bad enough they were destroyed by the destroyer for complaining. As you can see the results of sin is truly death and the warning to resist evil is for none other than us! The Old Testament is a type and shadow for us to follow and learn from the consequences of Israel's disobedience and the subsequent anger of God that was administered by their enemies who were a picture of the powers of darkness coming upon today's sons of disobedience.

Throughout Israel's history they battled their enemies as they were commanded by God to drive them out from their land. In I Corinithians 3:9 God says that we are His field or land and just as Israel was ordered to run the enemies of God out, so we too have the same instruction to drive out the powers of darkness from our fleshly bodies. Demons are attracted and attached to sin and disobedience and enter the body to ultimately set up a stronghold and eventually destroy their host. In other words when an animal is wounded and leaves a blood trail, the predators pick up the scent and eventually catch up to their prey and attack, so it is with demon spirits, they follow people who are in sin, have unforgiveness, (Ref: Matthew 18:32-35) lust, hate, addiction or any other form of disobedience to God, giving them an open door to possess their prey!

Now all these things happened to them as examples, and were they written for our admonition, (instruction) upon whom the ends of the ages have come. I Corinthians 10:11

THE CUP OF DEMONS

The things which the Gentiles sacrifice they sacrifice to demons and not to God, and I do not want you to have fellowship with demons. I Corinthians 10:20

Again the apostle Paul is instructing the Corinthian church to beware of idolatry and to flee from it lest they become sharers with demonic spirits. He then explains the act of communion or sharing of the body and blood of the Lord Jesus and how it relates to one becoming a sharer in something he is making sacrifice to, either the Lord in communion and worship, or to demons by giving to an idol. An example of how we sacrifice to demons would be drug addiction, giving our money or offering to a drug dealer and then injecting the purchased product into our arm, thus becoming a sharer with a spirit of sorcery.

The Greek word for sorcery is pharmakia where we get our modern word for pharmacy, meaning sorcery by drugs or in medieval times, witchcraft and potions. Contrary to popular belief, drug addiction or alcoholism is not a disease it is sin and sin can only be dealt with by repentance and the blood of Jesus. I want you to understand how demons enter people and how they are expelled because this is what a large part of the ministry of Jesus consisted of, casting out demons from people who had acquired them through disobedience, either their own, or by a generational curse coming through the blood line of their unfaithful ancestors! Keep in mind that Paul was not speaking to unbelievers, he was speaking to born again blood washed saints of God giving them warning that Christians can also have demons!

Again, contrary to popular belief and traditional doctrine Christians can have demons, but how you say since we are the temple of God and the Holy Spirit resides in us. The same way He resided in the Jewish temple in the holy of hollies while the sons of the devil, as Jesus called them were running it as priests. The Holy Spirit resides within our spirit and demons inhabit our flesh, just as a Christian can be sick or have a spirit of infirmity. The late Derek Prince, well known Bible scholar and minister of deliverance was once asked if a Christian could have a demon, he responded by saying, "A Christian can have anything he wants!"

You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons; you cannot partake of the Lord's table and the table of demons. I Corinthians 10:21

THE WRATH OF GOD

The noise of a multitude in the mountains, like that of many people! A tumultuous noise of the kingdom of the nations gathered together! The Lord of hosts musters the army for battle. They come from a far country, from the end of Heaven, the Lord and His weapons (instruments) of indignation, to destroy the whole land. Isaiah 13:4,5

The prophet Isaiah is prophesying of the anger of God being administered by an army of demonic powers sent to destroy the land. The wrath of God is being carried out against the wicked for their iniquity and the arrogance of the proud in the day of the Lord. In this context of scripture he is not talking about an army of believers, because we are not sent to destroy but to plant, he is speaking of an army of demons also mentioned in Joel 2:1-11, a demonic hoard sent to destroy everything in their path leaving a desolate wilderness!

There has been gross misunderstanding by preachers and teachers about God's army in the book of Joel and it describes them as locusts, something believers are never called or referred to because we are called to restore what the enemies of God have destroyed. In the very first verse in Joel 2:1 is a warning from the Lord to sound an alarm for His people to fear the coming of the day of the Lord or the day of judgment on the ungodly. For your own enlightenment do a study on the day of the Lord and see if your fear of God level goes up and your understanding of His wrath revealed to you so that you will understand why the earth is being destroyed by the powers of darkness before your very eyes!

Take for instance, Isis, the new kids on the block of terror and tell me who you think is controlling them and what do you think they are sent to do. In the last days the terror of the Lord will come and destroy the whole land bringing about fear and dread, the likes of which no one has ever seen and the destruction it will bring will be unprecedented. In 1741 Jonathan Edwards, a British Colonial Christian preached a sermon titled: "Sinners in the hands of an angry God" in which he describes the spiritual condition of the lost in regards to their fate if not found repentant at the judgment seat of the Most High! Their foot shall slide in due time was the central theme of his sermon, meant to bring about the fear and terror of the Lord on a people steeped in sin and hardened to the truth of God's word in respect to His wrath because of their disobedience and their appointed doom, being cast down into eternal damnation! The results of this powerful sermon brought about such fear of judgment that people grasped anything they could to hold onto in order to escape slipping into the bowels of Hell!

Knowing therefore, the terror of the Lord, we persuade men; but we are well known to God, and I also trust are well known in your consciences. II Corinthians 5:11
