For as we have many members in one body, but all the members do not have the same function, so we being many, are one body in Christ, and individually members of one another. Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, let us use them: if prophecy, let us prophesy in proportion to our faith. Romans 12:4-6

These are the motivational gifts that God has given us that motivate the faith within us to operate in that which He has given! Prophecy, not to be mistaken for the gift of prophet can be used by all who by faith use it to edify the body.
To prophesy is to speak that which the Spirit leads us to speak, always in line with God's word. The spiritual and motivational gifts have seemed to wane in the last few decades leaving a dry and dusty church that lacks the supernatural power and manifestation of the Holy Spirit.
When we assemble, we must allow the Spirit to lead us in the operation of the gifts and callings of God. Even in our everyday lives we can prophesy to those whom the Spirit is convicting about the condition of their eternal souls or concerning those things they are dealing with in their life.
He who prophesies speaks edification and exhortation and comfort to men. I Corinthians 14:3
