When one is born-again his whole world view changes from hating people, holding grudges and animosity toward those who have hurt you, to loving everyone as you would yourselves. This transformation of the inner man is an astounding miracle of grace!
As I was enjoying my "Honeymoon" with Jesus in the church, one morning He said to me, "Go to the streets!" He then led me to a family living in a bus by a river. This was my first experience helping folks and so I got them out of the woods and with the help of the local newspaper provided a home, furniture, clothes, food and a car. The night we moved them in I prayed for their daughter who had a high fever and God healed her immediately!
Keep in mind that you will be tested and tried as you reach out to help people because God desires to show His benevolent character and at the same time build patience and endurance in you! As it turned out the family was going to the flea market selling the things we gave them to buy beer and then demanded money from the church accusing me of stealing their filthy laundry that I paid to have cleaned! This was my first test but even though it didn't turn out as I had hoped I continued on! PTL
But also for this very reason, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue, to virtue knowledge, to knowledge self control, to self control perseverance, to perseverance godliness, to godliness brotherly kindness and to brotherly kindness love. II Peter 1:5-7
