Behold, I was brought forth in iniquity, and in sin my mother conceived me. Behold, You desire truth in the inward parts, and in the hidden part You will make me to know wisdom. Isaiah 51:5,6

David was acknowledging his need to break the generational curse of sin inherited from his ancestors. It has been said that Rahab the harlot from Jericho was David's great, great grandmother, but many dispute the fact, nonetheless the sin of Adam has infected us all with sin and must be repented of in order to break the curse and set us free!

It is a scientific fact that we inherit diseases from our ancestors and it is also a biblical fact that we inherit their sins. This is the reason we must be saved, because of Adam's sin that fell upon all men, for all have sinned! I have ministered in the prisons and have seen several cases where the sons of the incarcerated not only ended up in prison for the same crime, but even had the same cell as their fathers!

Normally upon our salvation experience as we confess and repent, the blood of Jesus cleanses us from the generational curse of sin, but in some cases various curses remain and must be broken as the Holy Spirit acknowledges them. If there is something in your life, a chronic sickness or some other malady that doesn't leave, you may have an unbroken generational curse that must be verbally broken by confessing that which the Holy Spirit reveals to you!

Therefore, as through one man's (Adam) offense judgment came to all men, resulting in condemnation, even so through one Man's (Jesus) righteous act the free gift came to all men, resulting in justification of life. For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so also by one Man's obedience many will be made righteous. Romans 5:18,19
