The apostle Paul was teaching the Corinthian church about the correlation between Israel becoming partakers of that which is sacrificed on the altar to their own communion, exhorting them not to commit idolatry and become sharers with demons.
Every sin committed has a demon attached to it and that is why it is so important to refrain from willful disobedience. Idolatry, immorality and unforgiveness are just some of the doors that can be opened to the powers of darkness to enter your life to rob, kill and destroy! Throughout my spiritual walk there has been debate about whether a Christian can have a demon and the late Derek Prince said, "A Christian can have anything he wants!"
The danger in our communion with the Lord is that we are partaking of something, becoming sharers either with the Lord or something else. The Greek word for communion is koinonia which means: fellowship, sharing and participation. This is why Paul was so adamant about taking the Lord's supper in a worthy manner, otherwise they could be eating and drinking judgment to themselves!
You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons; you cannot partake of the Lord's table and the table of demons. I Corinthians 10:21
