Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the path of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful; but his delight is in the law (word) of the Lord, and in His law (word) he meditates day and night. Psalm 1:1,2
Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the path of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful; but his delight is in the law (word) of the Lord, and in His law (word) he meditates day and night. Psalm 1:1,2
The word in Colossians 3:2 instructs us to set our minds on things above and not on the earth and by meditating on the scriptures we fill our mind with heavenly things. Watch CNN or any of the news channels night and day and see what your mind is filled with, it wont be a pretty sight.
In order to seek God's presence in the secret place one needs to begin to allow the Lord to lead him in the word, taking that which the Holy Spirit illuminates, meditating on it until it begins to enter the heart. Biblical meditation is not the same as transcendental meditation or what Yoga or any of the Eastern religions teach, it is not to clear your mind, but to fill your spirit with a river of divine wisdom, knowledge and discernment.
From within your innermost being will flow rivers of living water, a spiritual reservoir of divine revelation that will water the dry and dusty hearts of the world. Remember the woman at the well, Jesus told her to ask Him and He would give her living water, the water of life that would satisfy her spiritual thirst forever! Trees planted by the riverside never experience drought because they are watered continuously by the rushing water and their roots go deep into the streams giving them perpetual moisture.
He shall be like a tree planted by the river of water, that brings forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf also shall not wither; and whatever he does shall prosper. Psalm 1:3
