Everyone endures temptation, some make it through the trial while others fall into sin. Two of the strongest men on the planet fell into temptation, Samson who had extraordinary physical strength, but weak in character and King David who was a great military strategist and commander of Israel's elite fighting force!
We have to be saved and washed in the blood of Jesus because of the sin of Adam who allowed his wife, Eve to be seduced by Satan in the garden. All of mankind from that time on was born in sin because of someone falling into temptation. In order to overcome temptation, one must suffer through the trial, sometimes even in pain as many know who have fought addiction whether from drugs, alcohol or even cigarettes.
I Peter 4:1 speaks of the suffering of Christ instructing us to arm ourselves with the same mind so that those who have suffered in the flesh have ceased from sin. When temptation comes and surely it will, arm yourselves with the word of God, stand firm in the armor God has provided and overcome the schemes of the devil and when you are approved you will also receive The Crown of Life!
Be sober, (self-controlled) be vigilant; (watchful) because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world. I Peter 5:8,9
