But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right (authority) to become children of God to those who believe in His name who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. John 1:12,13
HONESTY
But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right (authority) to become children of God to those who believe in His name who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. John 1:12,13
I believe many are not Hardcore Christians because they are simply not saved, having prayed a prayer, walked an isle or were baptized into the membership of a church. In order for one to truly be born again he must be convicted of being a sinner or be in a state of desperation concerning his soul! Millions have been compelled by preachers to pray the sinner's prayer as if by praying it would make you a believer.
One must be honest with himself about his spiritual condition, whether he is born of the Spirit or not because millions are deceived by the trickery of greedy men and a gospel watered down and sugar coated so that everyone can come in. The question must be posed, are you born again, are you a new creation, have old things passed away and does Holy Spirit reside in you? If you can honestly say yes to these questions you should be exhibiting the signs of a Hardcore Christian!
Another test is: do you have a hunger for God's word? New born human babies immediately want to eat and spiritual babies are no different, desiring the pure milk of the Word. I have encountered hundreds of confessing Christians who do not spend any time in the Word or in prayer, only going to church, relying on a twenty minute sermon to feed them for a week! If you only ate once a week you would soon starve yourself to death, so it is with believers, or should I say, un-believers?
Therefore laying aside, (old things) all malice, all deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and all evil speaking, as newborn babes, desire the pure milk of the word, that you may grow thereby, if indeed you have tasted that the Lord is gracious. I Peter 2:1-3
