"All the governors of the kingdom, the administrators and satraps, the counselors and advisors have consulted together to establish a royal statute and to make a firm decree, that whoever petitions any god or man for thirty days, except you, O king, shall be cast into the den of lions." Daniel 6:7

Although the king had appointed three governors over the kingdom of whom Daniel was one, there was a royal edict that no one could petition or pray to any god or man for thirty days. As was his custom, Daniel prayed three times a day when the leaders of the kingdom who were trying to condemn him found him praying and told the king!

The king, reminded of the edict didn't want to punish Daniel but had to honor his word, even though he prayed and fasted that God would protect Daniel! His sleep was robbed from him that night and the next morning he went to the lion's den and cried out to Daniel, "Daniel, servant of the living God, has your God whom you serve continually been able to deliver you from the lions?"

Because Daniel was a servant of the Most High and a man of faith who possessed a spirit of courage and honesty, God sent an angel to close the mouths of the lions! Not a hair on Daniel's head was touched and God delivered him from danger and death as He will also do for us if we believe in His word! Claim Psalm 91 for yourselves and your loved ones for protection!

"My God sent His angel and shut the lion's mouths, so that they have not hurt me, because I was found innocent before Him and also O king, I have done no wrong before you." Daniel 6:22
