The Word is clear, stand, as in stand firm without fear or trepidation in the face of your enemies! Most of what the devil has in his arsenal is fear, doubt and unbelief with nothing that can harm us, although he makes it so real, we believe we are in harms' way!
Our instruction is to gird our waist with truth, in other words, like girding your waist with a sword, so it is with the Word which in the Spirit is our weapon against the powers of darkness! Next, as I have been teaching in our Devotions is the breastplate of righteousness that guards our heart and also confirms to us who we are in Christ! Remember when the devil tried to get Jesus to question who He was in the wilderness, when he said to Him, "If You are the Son of God?"
Having our feet shod prepares us to go into all the world with the Gospel of Jesus Christ and preach to the lost, heal the sick, and cast out demons! When you ride into battle you have to make sure your horse is properly shod or else, he could come up lame, so it is with us, we must prepare ourselves in prayer and the Word before we engage the enemy!
"Behold, I give you authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you." Luke 10:19
